New to Filipino baking? Start here.

Classic Filipino bread: Pandesal. Soft, barely sweet, dusted in breadcrumbs. It is the everyday bread of the Philippines and the easiest place to begin.
If you want something richer: Ensaymada. Brioche, butter, sugar, aged cheese. Sweet and salty at the same time, which sounds strange but is amazing.
If you want to taste something you cannot get anywhere else nearby: try anything with ube. Purple yam — earthy, creamy, a little vanilla. It is the flavor people come back for.
