What to expect your first time?

We know that walking into a bakery you have never been to — especially one with a case full of names you might not recognize — can feel like a lot. It is not. Here is what actually happens.

01

You walk in. The smell gets you first. Someone will say hello within a few seconds, and they will mean it.

02

You look at the case. The bread and pastries are in the glass display, the drinks are on the board behind the counter, and the day’s specials are out on the counter. If something catches your eye and you want to know what it is, just ask us. That is genuinely our favorite part of the job.

03

You try something. We would start you on the pandesal — soft, warm, lightly crusted. It is the bread most of the Philippines eats in the morning.

04

You sit down. There is no rush. Community tables, quieter corners, room for a family and room for one person with a book. Stay as long as you like.

05

You find out what you like. Most people come in for one thing and leave knowing what they want next time. We hope you try something different every time you visit us.
